"People trusted me, never doubted me, at any time, but I doubted myself a lot at that time. I said to myself "you're very young, it's quite a challenge, are you going to be able to rise to it, are you legitimate?

These doubts mentioned by Leila...many of us experience them at certain times in our careers and often in a solitary way.

Leila Bazzi is the eldest of three children born to Moroccan parents who immigrated to France. She is the mother of two daughters aged 7 and 10 and moved to Morocco 13 years ago.

Leïla is one of those committed people who live life at 100 km/hour.

Director of Ethics and Confirmation for a region of more than 70 countries in the pharmaceutical industry, a commitment to federate a community of Moroccan Legal Directors but also to women through the Lean In Morocco Chapter. And finally a great personal development podcast of which I am a faithful listener.

During this episode, Leïla told us about her move to Morocco, which was not meant to last, the reasons that made her decide to leave the world of law firms for the corporate world, how she landed the position of Legal Manager at Renault Morocco at the age of 27 and how she moved from legal to compliance.

Leila also spoke about overcoming her limiting beliefs and about her commitments to CMDJ and the Lean In Morocco Chapter. I hope you have as good a time as we did.

Have a good listen 😊

You can't advise an internal client if you don't listen to them and take the time to understand their needs and their business.

What tools do you use in the Legal Department?

Tools developed in-house at corporate level. They save us time and are tailored to our specific needs.

✅ Reporting tools

✅ Risk identification

✅ Risk monitoring

If you had to give one piece of advice to new generations of lawyers who want to progress in their careers, what would it be?

Get out of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to dare.

Looking back, I realise that it was by stepping out of my comfort zone that I learnt a lot about myself, that I discovered new disciplines, new fields that led me to new horizons.

Cultivate your curiosity and take an interest in what is going on around you.
